Service Before Sales for Coughlan’s of Cudal

A relationship with the dealer based on hard-earned trust, reliable after sales care, and a dealership with a positive ‘can-do’ culture are the prerequisites for John Coughlan when it comes to choosing machinery he can rely on.

“It’s more important to be able to service a machine than sell it as far as I’m concerned,” explained John.

“I need to know that I can get it set-up properly and get the best out of it under all circumstances.

“I also need to be confident that I can get it repaired quickly during busy times and the long-term support will always be there.”

John runs the mixed farming property “Cudal Park” east of Cudal along with his brother Patrick. The 1,300ha fine wool, wheat and canola enterprise sees around 600ha cropped each year.

The brothers have been farming in the area since 1984 and were previously farming in the Riverina.

The move to Fendt and Massey Ferguson began in 2013 for the Coughlan brothers – after Jeremy Whitty took on the dealerships at JGW.

“We have a long history with Jeremy,” John outlined. “We have been associated with him since he was an apprentice mechanic.

“He moved around a bit and we followed him until he set-up business and went out on his own.

“We’ve always been impressed with his service and skills and his general attitude towards machinery.

“JGW’s after sales service and back-up is excellent. Their skills are fantastic and there is genuinely a great culture throughout the team that work there.”
